چکیده

It is shown that the energy (ε) and momentum (k) dependences of the electron selfenergy function Σ(k, ε + i0) ≡ Σ(k, ε) are, ImΣ(k, ε) = −aε|ε − ξk| −γ(k) where a is some constant, ξk = ε(k)−μ, ε(k) being the band energy, and the critical exponent γ(k), which depends on the curvature of the Fermi surface at k, satisfies, 0 ≤ γ(k) ≤ 1. This leads to a new type of electron liquid, which is the Fermi liquid in the limit of ε, ξk → 0 but for ξk 6= 0 has a split one-particle spectra as in the Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid. (submitted to J. Critical behavior of the single-particle spectral weight in the ionic Hubbard model

We show in this paper that the single-particle spectral-weight function SWF of the one-dimensional ionic Hubbard model at half filling exhibits critical behavior, as a function of the on-site repulsion U, near the chemical potential. The calculation has been carried out within the framework of the cluster perturbation theory approach of Senechal et al., Phys. Rev. Lett 84, 522 2000 . As U incre...

Spectral microscopic mechanisms and quantum phase transitions in a 1D correlated problem

In this paper we study the dominant microscopic processes that generate nearly the whole one-electron removal and addition spectral weight of the onedimensional Hubbard model for all values of the on-site repulsion U . We find that for the doped Mott-Hubbard insulator there is a competition between the microscopic processes that generate the one-electron upper-Hubbard band spectral-weight distr...

The Hubbard model description of the photoemission TCNQ singular features

In this paper we use the pseudofermion dynamical theory (PDT) in the study of the one-electron removal singular spectral features the one-dimensional Hubbard model. The PDT reveals that in the whole (k, ω)-plane such features are of power-law type and correspond to well defined lines of three types: the charge singular branch lines, the spin singular branch lines, and the border lines. One of o...

Spectroscopic signatures of a bandwidth-controlled Mott transition at the surface of 1T-TaSe2.

High-resolution angle-resolved photoemission data show that a metal-insulator Mott transition occurs at the surface of the quasi-two-dimensional compound 1T-TaSe2. The transition is driven by the narrowing of the Ta 5d band induced by a temperature-dependent modulation of the atomic positions. A dynamical mean-field theory calculation of the spectral function of the half-filled Hubbard model ca...

Pair formation in the Hubbard-Davydov model

We study a model 1-D system which describes two quasi-particles interacting with a nonlinear lattice. The quasi-particles are treated quantum mechanically, whereas the lattice is treated classically. For a range of model parameters, we find pairing between the two quasi-particles. We investigate the dynamical stability of such pairs, and comment on the possible applications to models of HTSC. T...
